Do you know how to organize your makeup drawer? Ever feel like you can do your makeup faster and easier especially in the busy mornings? I sure do! I always want to be done in ten minutes or less. I just want to be efficient in using my time.
But, how to do it? Well, it all boils down to getting your makeup organized. So,
How to organize your makeup drawer?
First, take a look – a comprehensive look at your collection. Take note of what you have, what you always use, which are already expired, and those you don’t really use. If I have makeup that I haven’t touched in 6 months, I’m pretty sure I’m never gonna use it ever. So, take this with a grain of salt, but if you don’t reach for it in 6 months or more, trash it or give it away (as long as it’s giftable).
Expired makeup? How to organize your makeup if they’re expired? Throw it away! This is not a discussion. Expired makeups are never good. And you wouldn’t want to put it on your face (or eyes for that matter). It is unsafe to use expired makeup. For quick guidelines:
- Mascara Expiration Date = 3 months
- Liquid Eyeliner Expiration Date = 3 months
- Eyeshadow Expiration Date = 3-6 months
- Lipstick, Liner, Lip Gloss Expiration Date = 1 – 1.5 years
- Foundation Expiration Date = 6 months to 1 year
- Blush, Bronzer, and Face Powder Expiration Date =1-2 years
Now, that you’ve sift through your collection. Let the organizing begin!

How to Organize Your Makeup
I’m an advocate of having designated spaces for your things. And makeup is no excuse. It will be a lot easier on how to organize your makeup if you have a makeup vanity. Most especially if you’re a make-up junkie and uses make-up on a daily basis.
This is my dream vanity. I prefer a vanity with lots of storage. And having a vanity, you’ll not only be able to organize your makeup and important items, but also, you’ll have a designated space of your own that looks like a scene out of a movie.
Makeup organizers come in different styles, sizes, and of course, price points. The Makeup organizers are your best investment for makeup in the long run. After you’ve taken inventory, consider how much do you have and if you’re planning to grow your collection even more. That way, you can decide which makeup organizer is the best for you.
I personally love this makeup organizer not only because it’s affordable but also because it’s acrylic and transparent where I can see what’s inside and has enough compartments for palettes, lipsticks, and even brushes. And this one is another favorite on how to organize your makeup!
This is one of the things I never knew I needed until I started traveling for work almost on a weekly basis. It just pays to have all makeup storage in place. You know what you have and what you don’t. Easy to reach and find what you need.
To conclude, having your makeup organized just makes it a hella lot easier for when you’re getting ready. And it helps to show what products do we still have and own. Because you know, for makeup products, if you don’t use it, you lose it.
There are tons of makeup organizers out there, but these are all my personal opinion and what’s been working great for me. If you have a recommendation, comment down below and I would love to check it out!
